Principal's Message
Happy 80th Birthday, St Nicholas! This year, our 80th birthday was celebrated with an abundance of meaningful activities,
culminating with the Official Opening Ceremony of our upgraded new campus by Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong on 19 November.
As we come to the end of this wonderful year, I look back with great pride and would like to thank our teachers, staff,
parents and alumnae who have dedicated their steadfast commitment to lead the school through this year of celebration.
It is our mission to nurture all-rounded students and we are proud of the academic and co-curricular achievements of our secondary
and primary girls. Our first batch of Integrated Programme (IP) girls started on a strong footing while our ‘O’ Level programme
continues to be well sought after. This gives me immense joy as it affirms both our ‘O’ Level programme which enjoys an excellent
track record, as well as our newly-introduced IP. These dual tracks enjoy recognition as solid and rewarding choices for our pupils.
In our secondary section, all performing arts groups attained a Certificate of Distinction for this year’s Singapore Youth Festival
Central Judging, while all Uniformed Groups achieved Gold in their respective categories. Our sports girls in both primary and
secondary sections also did the school proud with favourable placings in both zonal and national competitions.
Our girls’ achievements are testimonies of the hard work and dedication of our teachers, coaches and pupils. But what makes me most
proud is that our girls embody our school motto in their endeavours: Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty. In St Nicholas, we value fair play
above triumph, humility in glory, and graciousness in defeat. Being resilient, inventive and adaptable in the face of challenges is also what
sets the St Nicholas girl apart.
Moving forward, we will continue to provide a holistic education that prepares our girls for the future. Character building and the inculcation
of values are still our enduring emphasis. In particular, as a SAP school, we will continue to develop our girls into bilingual and bicultural
individuals who can be the conduit between the east and west. We will work hand in hand with parents and partners to nurture our girls
into becoming Girls of Grace, Women of Strength and Leaders with Heart who embody our school values of Truth, Justice, Freedom and Love.
